Photography
At its core, photography is the art and science of capturing light and recording it onto a sensitive medium, traditionally film or now more commonly a digital sensor, to create an image. The word “photography” itself comes from the Greek words “phos” (light) and “graphein” (to write), essentially meaning “writing with light.”
